Polygamist, radical leftist, absent father.  These words were brought to life on the screen as my husband and I went to see a movie where the screenwriter's main objective was for us in the audience to see how a father could shape a man and his ideology.  As I watched how this father figure in a foreign country was now shaping the once strongest Christian nation - America -  I was reminded how simple it is to shape a life - good or bad. The movie pointed out that the man leading our nation today was being led by his long past father and the father's dreams.

Messiah, Father, Healer, Comforter, Deliverer, Holy, Redeemer, Author of my faith, ................Wonderful Savior, Loves the unlovely, Heals broken hearts, and Protector.
Words that describe my heavenly father.

Which father is shaping my life the mechanic or the Messiah, or both? What do people see when they see me in action day after day? My earthly father - hard-worker and passionate for a cause or my heavenly father - loves everyone, died for the unloving, redeemer for me? Each of us decides on a daily basis who will shape our day, whose footprints and reputation will we follow or represent.

My earthy father gave me specific instructions on how to be successful and my heavenly father did the same.  'Be Holy for I am Holy.'  These are the words given to us from our heavenly father. It says no matter what type of earthly father you had God still wants us to be holy. Set ourselves apart and be different.  You and I are a chosen race, a royal priesthood.

1 Peter 1:15  "but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior, because it is written, You Shall be Holy, for I am Holy.
